From the manufacturer's official website:
The new Newton 31/86 stem has a special 86° rise (angle between steerer axis and stem extension). This makes it possible, with a stem of 120 mm extension, to raise the center of the handlebar by 8 mm (0,3 inch) with standard assembly, or to raise the handlebar by 24 mm (1' inch) with reverse assembly, relative to a regular Deda Newton 31 stem. Each rider can find his optimum riding position. Titanium 6/4 hardware
